Airway: Clear the Airway
The goal is to clear the airway to allow your rescue breaths to reach the lungs of the victiim by relieving airway obstruction. Lift up the chin with one hand. At the same time, push down on the forehead with the other hand.
Look, listen, and feel for breathing. Place your ear close to the child's mouth and nose. Watch for chest movement. Feel for breath on your cheek. If there is none, check for possible tongue obstruction or any foreign objects. It can obstruct the airways and prevent the child from breathing on his own.
